The client came to us at The Tailored Foundation while preparing for a high end wedding in Chicago. He works in transportation and explained that long hours on the road had made it difficult to maintain a wardrobe that fits well. Formalwear was especially challenging, and he wanted an outfit that looked sharp, felt comfortable, and matched the standard of an upscale event.

The Challenge

Finding clothing that fits properly can be difficult for clients with a big or tall build, particularly when the occasion requires a polished and elevated appearance. The challenge was to design a look that balanced comfort, structure, and proportion while still delivering the level of refinement expected at a black tie wedding.

Our Approach

Fabric Selection

We chose a wool blend that offers structure without unnecessary weight. This allowed the suit to maintain clean lines and a smooth drape while providing comfortable movement throughout the event.

Design and Customization

The design focused on achieving balanced proportions. We created a single breasted jacket with a slightly lowered button stance to elongate the frame, added a supportive shoulder line, and shaped the body for a clean silhouette that did not feel tight. The trousers were cut with a comfortable rise and a tapered leg that created shape without restricting movement.

Fitting Sessions

Through multiple fittings, we refined the jacket length, sleeve alignment, and overall structure to ensure the suit followed his natural lines. These adjustments were essential for creating a fit that supported his build while remaining easy to wear during a long day of events.

The Result

The final look delivered comfort, confidence, and a polished presence suitable for a high end Chicago wedding. The suit provided the right level of formality, fit his build accurately, and allowed him to move freely throughout the ceremony and reception.
