What makes us different
Shoes that fit because they were made for your foot
Standard shoes are built on generic lasts designed to approximate a range of feet. If your foot does not match that approximation closely, you will feel it — blisters during break-in, discomfort on long days, and fit that is never quite right no matter the brand or size.
A bespoke shoe starts with a last carved to your specific foot measurements. The pattern is drafted from that last, and the shoe is built by hand from the ground up. The result fits correctly from the first wear, with no break-in required. Read more about what makes bespoke footwear different in our guide on why custom shoes are worth the investment.

Common questions
Everything you want to know before booking
What does bespoke mean in shoemaking?
In shoemaking, bespoke means a unique last is carved from your foot measurements, a pattern is drafted from that last, and the shoe is built entirely by hand. It is distinct from made-to-measure footwear, where a standard last is adjusted for your size, and from custom-order shoes where you choose colors but the construction remains mass-produced. We only work bespoke.
How long does a pair of bespoke shoes take?
Most commissions are completed within several weeks of the initial consultation, depending on complexity and current schedule. If you are working toward a specific event or date, let us know at the first appointment and we will plan accordingly.
How long will a pair of bespoke shoes last?
With proper care and periodic resoling, a well-built pair of bespoke shoes can last 20 to 30 years. The full-grain leather we use develops rather than deteriorates with wear, and the Goodyear welt construction means the sole can be replaced multiple times without affecting the upper. Read more about the longevity case in our guide on why custom shoes are worth the investment.
What styles can I order?
We make oxfords, derbies, monk straps, loafers, and boots. Within each style you choose the toe shape, sole construction, lace style, lining, and any finishing details including hand-painted patinas. The style options are discussed in full during the consultation.
Is there a break-in period?
No. Because the shoe is built on a last made from your foot, it fits correctly from the first wear. The prolonged break-in period associated with off-the-shelf footwear is a symptom of a shoe that was not built for your specific foot shape.
Can bespoke shoes help with foot problems or unusual foot shapes?
Yes. Because the last is built from your measurements, common issues like wide feet, high arches, bunions, or a significant size difference between feet are all accommodated in the construction. Many clients come to us specifically because standard sizing has never worked for them.
Do bespoke shoes pair well with a bespoke suit?
They complete it. A bespoke suit that ends at the ankle and meets a generic off-the-shelf shoe is a common disconnect that undermines the overall look. Commissioning both together means every element of the outfit is built to the same standard and can be designed to complement each other. Visit our custom suits page to see what we offer.
Are bespoke shoes worth the cost compared to buying off the shelf?
For shoes worn regularly, yes. A quality off-the-shelf shoe typically needs replacing every one to two years of regular wear. A bespoke pair, properly resoled and conditioned, can outlast a dozen pairs of mid-range footwear. The cost per wear over time is significantly lower than it appears upfront. Our post on why custom shoes are worth the investment covers this in full.
